Proof that Jesus is the Messiah and God’s son.
Jesus loves you so much and He did die for you willingly.
His life and crucifixion were in books of prophecy, in the Old testament.
He knew exactly, what was going to happen to him, down to every fine detail.
Nothing he, or God does is by coincidence, but all things are predestined by them both. God is 100% in control, at all times.
When Jesus was praying so hard in the garden of Gethsemane the night before he was crucified, he was sweating like drops of blood because he knew what was about to happen.
And being in agony [deeply distressed and anguished; almost to the point of death], He prayed more intently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down on the ground.
Did you know that when he cried out on the cross, ‘My God, my God why have you forsaken me’, he was not asking a question?
He was fulfilling Bible prophecy.
In the Old testament
The following scriptures told of Christ’s future, His Birth and Life:
Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.
Micah 5:2 – 4
Look on Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken. There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.
Remember at the time, Jews called Romans dog’s, and so knowing this we will take a look at the completion of scripture and Prophecy.
Psalm 22 is the foretelling detailed story of the crucifixion.
We will read it and you will be amazed.
Starting Verse 1:
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?
My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
It continues in verse 6
But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. “He trusts in the Lord,” they say, “let the Lord rescue him.
Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.”
And from verse 11
Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet.
All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me.
They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.
Deliver me from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs.
Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen
The full story of the crucifixion!
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.
They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
The New Testament
Confirmation of His Birth and Life:
He was born of a virgin.
This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about : His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Matthew 1:18 and 22-23
He was born in Bethlehem.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem
He is the root of Jesse and from the house of David.
This is the family tree from Jesse and King David to Jesus:
Fathers and their sons,
Then they were exiled to Babylon
Jesus who mother was Mary.
And who is called the Messiah.
Look at the Psalms mentioned above, and see if anything seems familiar!
And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ).Mark 15:34
About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.Matthew 27:27
After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.
And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him.
They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”
One of the criminals who hung there, hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
Luke 23:26-27, 34-35, 37, 39
But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.
John 19:33-34 NIV
Nearly every detail, foretold at least 1000 years before it happened!
If the Jews know the Torah (the old testament) and Atheists want proof, why don’t they see these facts?
