How to know God and Jesus personally.Let’s see what the scriptures say…
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
John 6:47-58 ‘Bread’ is Jesus testimony, his crucifixion and resurrection. Anyone ‘eating’ it (hearing or reading – then believing it) will live forever.
“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.’Jesus tells us in the Lord’s Prayer that we need ‘bread’ Daily…
Eating, drinking and remaining in him
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Here he says ‘my words’ remain in you. We need to know his ‘Words’ first, in order for them to remain in us. If you remain in him, he will remain in you.
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.When you accepted Jesus as your Saviour, you received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
You have been anointed. Therefore, I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. If you read your Bible, even if it is only one paragraph, you are being taught by the Holy Spirit about both God and Jesus,
1 Corinthians 12:3
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 1 Corinthians 6:19
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1 John 2:27
If you don’t read your Bible, then you are not remaining in him.
You relationship will suffer. You will drift apart, and eventually, you will fall back into the ways of the world.
You will struggle with your life.
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:4So, we do not only need the crucifixion story, ‘every word’s means the ‘WHOLE’ Bible.
The only way to fully know God, and have a personal relationship with him, is to remain in him.
By reading His word every day, which grows, develops and matures our relationship.
By knowing it in our minds and hearts…
Only then will we truly know God and Jesus personally.
